Welcome to the IITB Class of 80 Legacy weblog!
January 17, 2006
This is where ongoing updates of the project status can be found. This site was created in early Jan 2006. Please bookmark or subscribe to a feed of this site, so you can track the ongoing development as we track the rolling out Phase 1 projects and then the Phase 2 rejuvenation plan for the entire lake. As of now we are keeping up the project momentum – an interim volunteer Project Manager has been nominated and a job description is being created for the permanent Project Manager. A lot of communication and developments have been happening even after the reunion. So stay tuned …..

Please feel free to leave comments like these and questions – as this is a publicly visible site and all coordination work is being done by volunteers please assist us by being constructive in your interactions with this site. Thanks and welcome.

Hi Nitin,
Thanks for lending your expertise to bring us up to date with the technology used in managing our legacy project.
I like the idea that now everyone has a chance to express their views without getting lost in someone’s mail box.
Let’s hope people are as forthcoming in volunteering their time as they are with their ideas.
- Suhas

Bor – this is a great way to communicate and share views with the entire Class of 1980. I think we all are in agreement about the need for the Legacy Project to be eco-friendly, but we need to defer to the experts in this area to ensure that this is reflected in the project plans.

Hi,
Good to see that the comments site is up. Maybe a link back to the Legacy Project main page would be good – so interested can clcik and return to http://www.iitbombay.org/legacy2005/
Also, I like the fact that there is total transparency – and updates will be posted regularly on the Legacy Project website.
Hiring the Project Manager would allow the Project to move ahead – and seek input and plans from all interested. Interested individuals should come forward and work with the Project Manager and IIT to restore Powai Lake back to what it was (or a better state) in its glory days. We are all looking forward to an environmentally sound developmental project being undertaken.
